It sounds like there is a whining coming from my transmission. It goes up with the RPM. The car still drives and shifts normally. It shouldn't need a new tranny at 50,000 miles! Its auto BTW.

You still thinking of trading this in for a different car?

As far as I know it was flushed 3k miles ago (says the PO. I have a receipt somewhere). I currently have neither a workspace nor a floor jack (I literally lost my jack. How the...) so I'll end up taking it to my mechanic. Hopefully it just needs a flush.

Meh. Someone offered me a lowered Miata, a 2000 Tacoma, a 68 Mustang (restored but no AC and salvage from theft) and a Ford F250+trailer+dirt bike. I turned them all down with a tentative maybe on the Miata. Its pretty nice, has some good mods and has had a TON of maintenance done.

Shouldn't need a flush in 3,000 miles.

Exactly my worry. I'll need to check the receipts.

Should be good for a 1 year warranty from the shop that performed the work.

Well, clearly the only thing you can do for that trans is get a full unicorn wrap and blast 'Always' by Erasure everywhere you go.

I had a loud drive-line whine in my BMW 2002. I downloaded a decibel meter for my phone and had a passenger move the phone from above the transmission tunnel down the drive shaft to the rear end as I drove down the highway. I had suspected the transmission due to the fact I had just upgraded to used 5 speed, but it turned out that the noise was loudest over the differential. I replaced that and problem solved.
